While various colors of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 are making their way into the hands of those who were closest to the late Virgil Abloh, the first public launch will be via a Sotheby’s auction.
The auction includes 200 pairs of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 in an exclusive brown calf leather colorway dressed in LV’s emblematic Monogram and Damier patterns. Each pair was made by Louis Vuitton in its shoe manufacture in Fiesso d’Artico, Italy. comes with an orange Louis Vuitton x Nike pilot case made of Monogram Taurillon Leather. All proceeds from this auction will go towards the Virgil Abloh “POST MODERN” Scholarship Fund for Black fashion students.
The 200 pairs of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 will be auctioned off via sothebys.com starting on January 26th and ending on February 8th. Sizes range from 5 to 18 with bids starting at $2,000 USD. A commercial launch of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 will take place later this season exclusively through Louis Vuitton.
