KENZO’s First Drop Under NIGO Has Arrived

Following its announcement earlier this week, the KENZO Boke Flower collection by NIGO has been revealed in full.

This collection marks the first release from KENZO with NIGO as artistic director of the Parisian fashion house. This new chapter is celebrated with a “2 x 5” release, featuring two sets of 5-piece wardrobes dropping on 02/05. This is a nod to NIGO’s moniker, as ni means “two” in Japanese and go means “five.”

While the two wardrobes are designed for men and women, respectively, each are genderless in spirit. Employing NIGO’s simplified graphic language, the pieces are adorned with playful graphics of the kusa-boke, a Japanese flower that blooms in February. The flower serves as a signal of the arrival of spring, the season of new beginnings.

The red flower and a new KENZO logo created by NIGO adorns a nylon coach jackets in navy, crewneck sweatshirts, a jersey cardigan, long-sleeve tees, oversized hoodies, a gurkha-inspired cargo trouser and cargo skirt made from Japanese washed cotton twill, and a blanket. Most of the pieces come in white as a nod to the image of a blank page, another symbol of a new beginning.

The KENZO Boke Flower collection marks the first in a four-part series of limited edition capsule collections for the Spring/Summer 2022 season. It launches on Saturday, February 5th at 10:30am Paris Time on the KENZO website. US drop is set for 11am EST. The collection will also be available at KENZO stores worldwide and select retailers such as LUISAVIAROMA, END. Clothing, and Dover Street Market.
