After missing the first three games in the NBA playoffs against the Utah Jazz due to injury, Luka Dončić is finally back in action. The 3× NBA All-Star used his return this Saturday as a chance to debut his first signature shoe, the Jordan Luka 1.
Having a signature shoe is not only the dream of every basketball player, but speaks as a testament to the level of skill and dominance one has achieved. After being signed to Jordan Brand in 2019, Dončić has proven his place in the NBA with a flurry of jaw-dropping performances and determined leadership. This feat makes Dončić just the sixth NBA player to receive a signature shoe from Jumpman. Dončić joins the a short list of superstars that includes Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, and Zion Williamson.
The Jordan Luka 1 is designed for Dončić’s multidirectional style of play accounting for his mixed bag of moves including stepbacks, crossovers and, of course, the Euro step. The shoe boasts Jordan Brand’s latest technology, including a new plate system dubbed IsoPlate that secures the foot to the footbed during quick and explosive movements. This is paired with a new sustainable performance foam called Formula 23 that provides lightweight and responsive cushioning. The single-piece knit upper along with Flightwire cables across the side panel also provides added support.
The Jordan Luka 1 is set to make its retail debut this summer on Nike.com and at select retailers, with additional colorways to release throughout the year.
