Before linking up with New Balance on the “No Emotions Are Emotions” 992, Chicago’s Joe Freshgoods was prepared to drop a collection with adidas. According to the designer, some mistakes were made by the Three Stripes, and the collection never ended up being released.
While the JFG x adidas collaboration was scrapped, the products still made into the production phase. The collection, titled “I Guess I Understand You Now,” will be released by Joe this Friday exclusively in Chicago with all funds going to support Chicago Public School students in need of remote learning supplies.
JFG has teased some of the items that will be released, such as a towel and crewneck, but he also revealed something that will not be releasing, a sample of a sneaker he made with adidas in 2018. The shoe, inspired by Chicago winters, comes in black and features a suede, Cordova, and nubuck leather construction with grey specks that resemble salt stains.
Check out the unreleased JFG x adidas shoe below and stay tuned for more info on Joe’s Chicago event this week.
