One of the biggest sports stories of 2023 was Lionel Messi signing with Inter Miami CF. The 8x Ballon d’Or winner has millions of fans around the world, many of them now new fans of Inter Miami and of Major League Soccer in general. Messi’s Inter Miami jersey quickly became the top-selling MLS jersey of 2023, and luckily adidas has just released some kicks to match.
adidas, official sponsor of both Messi and Major League Soccer, has teamed up with Inter Miami CF to release the “2getherness shoe,” a special colorway of the adidas Handball Spezial. The suede uppers come in pink with black trim, the club’s primary colors. “Libertad Para Soñar” (Freedom To Dream) is embroidered near the 3-stripe branding, the font directly pulled from one of David Beckham’s tattoos (Beckham is co-owner of IMCF). The insoles feature M-shaped EKG line graphics, an ode to Inter Miami fans, the “Heartbeat of the Club” our fans. Lastly, the Heron Stamp on the tongues signify unity and represents IMCF’s motto: “In Order To Be Number 1, We Must Go 2gether.”
“We’re very excited to bring our first pink shoe to life together with our great partners adidas,” says Mike Ridley, Inter Miami CF’s SVP Brand and Marketing. “As with our jerseys, there are a number of details incorporated into the shoe that make it unique, and we hope our fans like it as much as we do.”
