New Balance’s 1906L Sneaker Loafer is Coming Soon

One of the most buzzed about footwear releases of 2024 has been the New Balance 1906L, a loafer version of the popular 1906R sneaker model.

We first got acquainted with this sneaker/loafer hybrid back in January when it made its debut at Paris Fashion Week during the Junya Watanabe MAN Fall/Winter 2024 show. Two collaborative colorways were revealed, a “Triple Black” version and one with a white upper and black midsole.

More recently, New Balance has officially revealed a general release version of the model in a grey/metallic silver colorway. Attendees at a special event at Slam Jam for Milan Design Week were able to see the viral internet sensation in person.

The in-line version of the 1906L has a bit more 1906R sneaker DNA than the Junya versions. The uppers feature traditional mesh construction instead of the smooth leather that gives the collab a more formal aesthetic. Both versions, however, feature the N-ergy shock-absorbing midsole that New Balance first introduced on the 860v2 running shoe in 2011.

The New Balance 1906L “Silver Metallic” will hit shelves, the New Balance website, and select online stockists this fall. Grab a closer look below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.

The Clogposite was perhaps too ahead of its time, not getting much love when it was first introduced, though fitting right in in today’s footwear landscape. More and more people are looking for alternatives to conventional sneakers, creating a rising trend in clogs, mules, slides, and even sneaker loafers. […]
