Futura Kicks Off Salehe Bembury x Crocs Artist Series

0

Salehe Bembury and Crocs have teamed up with NYC street art legend Futura to release a limited edition colorway of their Pollex Clog silhouette. This collab marks the first entry in Salehe Bembury and Crocs’ new artist series, titled “Art Friends Thumbs Up Good Job” (AFTUGJ).

“AFTUGJ is based around the idea of community by introducing, fostering and maintaining the conversation of art. The catalyst for AFTUGJ is to create a moment within fine art that both educates a new consumer and continues the discourse for an existing one. By combining the unique perspectives and expertise of select artists, Salehe and Crocs are set to unveil new Pollex Clog iterations that will resonate with individuals seeking creative expression, style, and authenticity. The exclusive Pollex Clogs will be available in limited quantities and the art of every collaborator will be featured on both the shoes and the tissue paper they come in. This, in turn, makes the tissue paper artwork itself, allowing a consumer who has never owned any fine art, have their first piece.”

Futura’s Pollex Clog comes in a deep blue color scheme with the artist’s abstract work adorning the upper. Futura Laboratories branding appears on the heel strap, as well as on the footbed.

This project also marks the start of an ongoing relationship between Futura and Crocs, so keep an eye out for more Futura x Crocs collabs in the future.

The Futura x Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Clog will be available on Thursday, February 15th at 11am CST on beaspunge.com and the Futura Laboratories website. These are limited to 1,000 pairs so expect them to be a difficult cop, though luckily they are also dropping via EQL raffle on Crocs.com. Check out the official images below.
