EF Pro Cycling Debuts Kits Designed by Palace Skateboards

The first time trial for the multi-stage cycling showdown known as the Giro d’Italia kicks off this Saturday. One of the teams competing, Education First (EF) Pro Cycling, will be rocking one of the craziest kits ever.

Instead of their usual pink kits, which would clash with the race’s maglia rosa, the team will be wearing a completely new design by Rapha and Palace Skateboarding. It’s loud. it’s chaotic. There’s ducks on them. It’s purposely disruptive, which is a breath of fresh air for a sport like cycling that takes pride in tradition. Rapha themselves say they picked Palace as a collaborator because they are “alien to [cycling’s] aesthetic, oblivious to its origins, and untrained in its traditions.”

Palace went all out and also designed the team’s bikes, in collaboration with Cannondale, as well as the team’s helmets. The time trial helmets, in particular, are hilariously made to look like the head of a duck, with big bulging eyes and a yellow bill.

Palace will be releasing the kit online soon, as well as a casualwear collection that include tees, hats, hoodies, shirts, and a Gore-Tex jacket. Check out the kits below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for info on the collection and its release.
