Following up its collaboration with Skepta, Tremaine Emory’s Denim Tears is now teaming up with Bstroy to launch a “BSTROY TEARS” capsule.
Bstroy was established in 2013 in Atlanta by high school friends Brick Owens and Dieter “Du” Grams (aka Duey Catorze). With almost a decade in the game, Bstroy is now based in NYC and has been co-signed by the likes of Virgil Abloh and Kanye West. Du and Brick describe Bstroy as clothes for the “neo-natives,” survivors of a post-apocalyptic Earth ready to begin building things anew.
Included in the BSTROY TEARS capsule is a pair of Bstroy’s signature double-edge denim jeans, an experimental garment with a sort-of optical illusion effect, giving the impression of two pairs of jeans stitched together at the ankles. The jeans are covered in Denim Tears’ Cotton Wreath, a print seen on previous Denim Tears x Levi’s releases that is inspired by slavery and cotton’s intertwined history in America. The Bstroy “(B)” logo is also incorporated into the design.
The double-edge denim jeans are revealed in mid-wash blue with white print, though the lookbook also features a pair of yellow/orange gradient jeans with blue print and a pair of dark blue jeans with pink print. Other pieces revealed include graphic tees and a varsity-style jacket.
The BSTROY TEARS collection drops on Tuesday, September 27th via the Denim Tears and Bstroy websites. Check out the lookbook photos below.
