Coco Gauff officially debuted the New Balance Coco CG1, the tennis star’s first-ever signature shoe, Sunday during an exhibition match at the 2022 Atlanta Open.
As the youngest woman to reach the Finals of both singles and doubles at a major since 1999, Coco Gauff is taking her success to the next level with her own signature shoe. The Coco CG1 is the third signature shoe for Team New Balance Women across tennis, running, and softball.
The Coco CG1 is a mid-top, ’90s-inspired silhouette equipped with a FuelCell midsole for a propulsive feel in a player’s lateral footwork, while Energy Arc technology pairs a carbon fiber plate with voids strategically placed in the midsole to increase stored energy and deliver a higher amount of total energy returned. Other design elements include a NDurance rubber outsole for durability and traction and a FitWeave Lite upper for targeted stretch and support where needed.
Gauff worked closely with the New Balance team to make sure the importance of family was at the forefront of her creative inspiration, as well as her desire to drive the next generation. Details include a basketball on the left heel and a track spike on the right heel representing her parent’s collegiate sports. The right toe includes a quote from Coco’s coach and father Corey Gauff which reads “You can change the world with your racket.” The left toe includes the coordinates of the park where Coco grew up playing tennis.

The New Balance Coco CG1 launches on August 26th, just ahead of the US Open, in the “Pompey” and “DigiCoco” colorways at NewBalance.com and select retailers.
