After a trip to the Windy City for a collaboration with Leaders 1354, K-Swiss now heads back to its hometown of Los Angeles to team up with South Central’s Bricks & Wood.
“If you’re from California then you know the importance of a pair of all white K-Swiss,” says Bricks & Wood in their announcement post. “As a California company we identify with the relation K-Swiss has on west coast culture. This was our Air Force & is undeniable true if you grew up in the 90’s. We are proud to bring that back to the surface.”
For the collab, Bricks & Wood opts for an all-white take on the K-Swiss Classic VN. The VN marks the fourth generation of the original K-Swiss Classic tennis shoe first introduced in the ’60s. While the Classic VN is already a modern take on a classic, Bricks & Wood take things a step further with the choice of materials. The uppers are constructed from premium suede, paired with leather side stripes and micro corduroy on the tongue. Bricks & Wood branding appears on the tongues and underfoot through the icy translucent outsoles. As a final detail, the phrase “Enough Is Enough” is found on the inner ankle collars.
“This collaboration with Bricks & Wood highlights the future of Black & Brown designers while simultaneously paying homage to the road paved before us,” says K-Swiss in a statement. “Regardless is we got the recognition we deserved or not, we have always been here.”
The Bricks & Wood x K-Swiss collab launches this Friday, May 20th at a pop-up in Los Angeles at Flower District Gift Shop from 11am-7pm. An online release will follow on Monday, May 23rd at 9am PT on the Bricks & Wood website and K-Swiss.com.
