2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the ongoing partnership between BAPE and adidas Originals, as well as the 30th anniversary of the BAPE brand. After dropping commemorative collaborations on the Campus, Forum Low, and even a golf collection, the festivities continue with a two-pack of “30th Anniversary” BAPE x adidas Stan Smiths.
Arriving in two colorways, black and white, the BAPE x adidas Stan Smith is constructed from recycled synthetic leather and features an embossed ABC CAMO finish throughout the upper. The OG green ABC CAMO print appears on the heel patch and insoles, while the tongues are adorned with portraits of Stan Smith and the APE HEAD logo in gold leaf foil. Additional details include special 30th anniversary lace jewels and special 30th anniversary packaging. The campaign imagery depicts the shoe inside of a crane machine, paying homage to the BAPE’s Japanese roots.
A third colorway dressed in all-over camo has also been revealed by tennis legend Stan Smith himself, though as of now it is not clear if this is a F&F colorway or an upcoming release that is yet to be announced.
