The partnership between Canada-based Arc’teryx and Japanese retailer BEAMS first started in 2001, when the two came together to release special product for BEAMS’ 25th anniversary. The Arc’teryx x BEAMS Project is now entering a new chapter with its Fall/Winter 2022 collection, as it will be the first collaboration between the two available outside of Japan.
This latest collection is titled “Dimensions” and features color blocking inspired by topography seen from a high altitude. The four-piece capsule includes a Beta Jacket dressed in a mix of beige, grey, black, and white, colors normally found in nature, representing the strata, rocks, and ground. It features a double zip design, a feature not found on normal Beta Jackets, and is of course made with GORE-TEX. It also comes with gold embroidery branding on the left chest and arms, with a big bird logo on the upper right arm, a design cue common to Arc’teryx x BEAMS projects.
The collection is rounded out by three storage bags. The Mantis 26 Backpack (26 L) comes in white with black and grey accents, plus a khaki zipper to accentuate the gold logo embroidery. Also included is a matching white Mantis 1 Waistpack (1.5 L) and a slightly larger Mantis 2 Waistpack (2.5 L) that matches the Beta Jacket.
The Arc’teryx x BEAMS Fall/Winter 2022 “Dimensions” collection was made available via pre-order today in Japan on the BEAMS online store, but has already sold out. The collection will officially launch in Japan on Friday, August 26th, available at BEAMS Roppongi Hills. The collection will then be made available outside of Japan starting on August 31st, releasing at 11 Arc’teryx brand stores in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and China.
