Legendary Nike footwear designer Tinker Hatfield is back with more Player Exclusive footwear created for student-athletes of his alma mater, the University of Oregon.
As a former “Oregon Ducks” student-athlete himself, Hatfield has presented various PE designs to the University of Oregon’s football, track and field, and men’s and women’s basketball programs over the years. The latest is an Air Jordan 8 created for Ducks football.
This Air Jordan 8 features a comes in a white, green, grey, and black color palette. The chenille patch on the tongue features the “Fighting Duck” logo, that is normally in white, but in this case is black as a celebration of Oregon’s Oregon’s Black student-athletes. The black duck was first used on an Air Huarache PE created for the University of Oregon’s track and field program in response to a request from UO head coach Robert Johnson in 2016.
While usually reserved for UofO student athletes, friends and family, and well-plugged collectors, an allotment of pairs of the Air Jordan 8 “Oregon Ducks” PE will be made available to the public via a special StockX drop organized by Division Street, a company co-founded by Tinker, Phil Knight, and other prominent Oregon alumni focused on created NIL opportunities for UofO athletes. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the participating University of Oregon football student-athletes.
100 pairs of the Air Jordan 8 “Oregon Ducks” PE will be available via DropX auction on the StockX website and app starting on Monday, December 13th at 12pm ET.
