Air Jordan 3 Joins 2025 “Rare Air” Series

1

As part of its 40th anniversary celebration of the Air Jordan 1, Jordan Brand will be releasing special “Rare Air” colorways of its most popular retro silhouettes throughout 2025. After kicking off this series with two AJ1s in April, next in the lineup is the “Rare Air” Jordan 3.

Every pair in the Jordan “Rare Air” series features “mistakes” in its design, a nod to the early days of the Air Jordan line when all the kinks were still being ironed out in the sampling process. The most notable mistake on the “Rare Air” Jordan 3 is the Nike Air branding on the heels, placed normally on the left shoe but reversed on the right.

Other quirks-turned-features on the Air Jordan 3 include suede overlays in two different shades of grey and a split-blocked paint job on the cream midsole, with an added touch of blue on the lateral side. These come with special packaging, featuring the return of the Jordan face box from the early ’00s.

The 2025 “Rare Air” series will also include an Air Jordan 4 dressed in the same black, red, and blue color palette as the Air Jordan 3, as well as a yet-to-be-revealed Air Jordan 11.

The Air Jordan 3 “Rare Air” is slated to drop May 30th on SNKRS and at select retailers. Grab an early look below.
