New Balance 1000 Is Making a Big Comeback in 2024

0

New Balance has a great track record of reviving forgotten silhouettes from its archive and giving them newfound energy. We’ve seen this happen with the 550, then the 2002, and then again with the 1906. The next model to get this treatment is the New Balance 1000, a mesh-based running silhouette that first hit the market in 1999.

The revival of the New Balance 1000 will include the return of OG colorways, as well as collabs with some heavy hitters on team New Balance. Following the reveal of the two colorways that Joe Freshgoods has on the way, we now have a look at a new tri-colored iteration.

Originally believed to be a collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore, this New Balance 1000 colorway is an upcoming GR, and features a three-way split color blocking consisting of beige, green, and pink hues. A creamy beige is applied to the tongue, laces, and top-most side panels. Moving down to the toe box, we see forest green mesh paneling that extend to the lateral and medial sides. As we move closer to ground level, bubblegum pink emerges on the toe cap, mudguards, and midsoles.

While this colorway is not an Aimé Leon Dore collab, an ALD x New Balance 1000 project is rumored to release later this year in four colorways.

Grab a first look at the New Balance 1000 “Pink/Green” below. Expect these to release later this year on NewBalance.com and at select retailers. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
