AFEW and ASICS go together like peanut butter and jelly. With a history of stellar collabs throughout the years, the two now present the GT-II “Uplifting Pack.”
This collaboration features two colorways of the GT-II with a concept surrounding looking up and staying positive and mental health awareness. The diverse mix of materials was influenced by the complexity of the mind, with brain graphic patches on the heels plus brain graphics on the insoles and translucent outsoles adding to this theme.
The Polar Shade/Carbon colorway comes dressed in different shades of grey with a material mix of corduroy, perforated suede, and hairy suede. The Blush/Chocolate Brown pair has brown, grey, and frosted rose as its colors as well as a material mix of coated leather, nubuck, perforated suede, and hairy suede. This brown colorway has a special hidden feature. The color on the toe mudguard fades away to reveal a pink layer underneath. This detail was created to emphasize that some things might lie deeper underneath the surface. As part of the mental health awareness theme, AFEW has pledged 10% of the proceeds towards Deutsche Depressionshilfe, the German Depression Aid Foundation.
The AFEW x ASICS GT-II “Uplifting Pack” drops on June 9th in-store at AFEW locations, followed by an online release on June 10th on the AFEW website. Those who participated in the donation raffle for the AFEW x ASICS GEL Lyte III 1-of-1 in February can enter an Early Access raffle for this release. A wider release will take place on June 17th via ASICS.com and select retailers. Check out both colorways below.
