In 2020, Grace Wales Bonner and adidas launched their first collaborative collection, kicking off a partnership that has had fans eagerly awaiting for more every season. The collections over the past three years have meticulously blended influences from West African, Afro-Atlantic, and European cultures, all tied together through the sport of football.
The Wales Bonner x adidas Originals partnership is back with a new collection for Fall/Winter 2023, highlighted by four new colorways of the Samba silhouette. Luxurious faux pony-hair cover the uppers of the leopard print, light tan, and black colorways, while the fourth colorway comes with fox brown nylon and suede construction.
The footwear is accompanied by a selection of refined and elegant looks, pulling inspiration from ’70s and ’90s sportswear styles from the adidas archive. Highlights include the elevated knit set in mahogany brown, the pale sky tracksuit, and the black nylon jacket with a contrasting green knit collar.
