Rihanna & PUMA Bring Earth Tones to the Creeper Phatty

One of the silhouettes from Rihanna’s revived FENTY x PUMA partnership is the Creeper Phatty, a bolder version of the original Creeper that Riri helped launched to “sneaker of the year” status in 2016. While the Avanti features soccer and running DNA, the Creeper was born by remixing the classic PUMA Suede, giving it a ridged platform sole.

The Creeper Phatty builds on the Creeper’s design, giving it a puffier upper with extra padding, as well as a stacked crepe gum sole. While the first couple of colorways were loud and bright, the upcoming Earth Tone pack opts for soft, natural colors instead.

The Earth Tone pack is comprised of three colorways, each made with high-quality nubuck and featuring luxe pops of gold. The “Totally Taupe” comes in a neutral brown hue. “Green Fog” comes in a soft shade of green that represents wisdom and intelligence. Lastly, the “Warm White” is perfect to pair with your crisp white fit for a fresh spring palette. All three colorways will be available in adult, junior, pre-school, and infant sizing.

The campaign for this launch was shot by Philippa Price and is inspired by the concept of creeping – attempting to do something without being noticed. With creative direction from Rihanna herself, the campaign explore the art of camouflage through carefully composed tone-on-tone imagery.

The FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty “Totally Taupe” launches April 18th at midnight ET on the PUMA website. The other two colorways from the Earth Tone pack will be available April 25th on PUMA.com (10am ET), at PUMA stores, and at select retailers including Foot Locker and JD Sports.
