Earlier this year, Nike Basketball dug into its archives and brought back the KD 3 in the “All-Star” colorway. The retro run for Kevin Durant’s third signature model will continue with more colorways in the coming months, including the return of the KD 3 “Christmas.”
Originally released in 2010 during what is referred to as the golden age of Nike Basketball, the KD 3 “Christmas” made its debut as part of a Christmas Day pack alongside the “Christmas” LeBron 8 V/2 and the fan-favorite “Grinch” Kobe 6. Together, the three pairs featured a traffic light theme and the collection was given the tagline “Signal Your Color.” While the pairs for King James and the Black Mamba came in traditional Christmas colors, red and green, the KD 3 came in yellow to round out the traffic light theme and is sometimes called the “No Yield for Yellow” colorway.
As first reported by Sneaker Files, the KD 3 “Christmas” is now set to make its return after thirteen years. Expect the retro version to feature the same color scheme as the original with a bright yellow upper, blue accents, and orange detailing.
Look for the Nike KD 3 “Christmas” to release late 2023 on SNKRS and at select retailers. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
