Official Look at the 2024 Nike KD 4 “Nerf”

Original Story (12/14/23): The KD 4, one of Kevin Durant’s most beloved signature sneakers, is making a big comeback in 2024. Fan-favorite colorways like the “Galaxy” and “Weatherman” are rumored to be returning, as well as the highly coveted “Nerf” colorway.

Originally released in 2011, the Nike KD 4 “Nerf” featured a color scheme inspired by Nerf’s toy basketball hoops that Kevin Durant used to ask for for his birthday as a child. The uppers came dressed primarily in a metallic Concord hue with a splatter design on the strap and midsole. Meanwhile, the tongue tags came adorned with Nerf and KD35 logos in the toy brand’s iconic font. But what made the KD 4 “Nerf” extra special was the packaging. The shoes came with a specially branded mini Nerf basketball and hoop, and the lid of the box could be used as a backboard. The shoe’s limited run also adds to its legacy, as only 300 pairs were released globally.

The upcoming retro version of the KD 4 “Nerf” is expected to look exactly like the original release from 2011, though it will be updated with modern tech for the support and comfort needed for today’s game of basketball.

As first reported by zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files, the Nike KD 4 “Nerf” retro is set to drop in Fall 2024 for a price of $150. The retro is not expected to be as limited as the OG, so expect them to be available on SNKRS and at select retailers globally. Grab a look at the original 2011 release version below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for first looks and additional updates.
