Although Nike Dunks aren’t as hot as they used to be a couple years ago, Nike has returned with a new Dunk Low, proclaiming “Dunks Not Dead.”
The name “Dunks Not Dead” is in reference to the motto “Punks Not Dead,” a counter-response to the idea that the punk movement was over when it became co-opted by the mainstream. Paying tribute to the punk rock style of the ’70s and ’80s, the shoe features a textured black leather base and rough army green overlays, adorned with punk-themed buttons like the ones you’d find on the leather and army surplus jackets of punk fans during that era.
In addition, the shoe features two different pink Swooshes, a whip-stitched version on the lateral side and a velcro version on the medial, with additional velcro details on the tongue, and heel tab. Furthermore, the shoe comes with two pairs of distressed laces—one in cream and the other in black. This upcoming release along with the Nike Dunk Low “CBGB” leaves not only Nike fans but also punk rock fans excited to see what Nike will do next.
The Nike Dunk Low “Dunks Not Dead” is slated to release Spring 2025 on SNKRS and in select retail stores. Get a look at the official images below.
