Nike Dunk Low “CBGB” Pays Homage to NYC’s Iconic Punk Club

Nike is paying homage to legendary New York City music venue CBGB with the release of a special Dunk Low.

CBGB first opened its doors on the corner of Bleecker and Bowery in 1973. Its name stood for “country, bluegrass, blues,” but it quickly became the central hub for NYC’s underground rock scene. The venue is widely considered the birthplace of punk, where bands like the Ramones played their first shows. Unfortunately, CBGB closed its doors in 2006, though its legacy lives on in the music it inspired and the people it connected.

Nike’s CBGB-themed Dunk Low features a lilac-tinted leather upper, a matching midsole, and shimmery cracked leather overlays in dark steel grey. Red Nike branding stylized like the CBGB logo appears on the heels and tongue tags. The insoles are covered in Nike and Nike NYC sticker graphics, similar to the stickers that covered every inch of every surface in the club. Hidden on the inside of the tongue are green embroidered tags made to look like the street signs outside the venue, though in the official images, it looks like Bleecker has been misspelled as “BLEEKER.” Hopefully this error doesn’t appear on the physical product.

The Nike Dunk Low “CBGB” is a QS (Quickstrike), slated to drop Spring 2025 on SNKRS and at select retailers. Check out the official images below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
