Known across the globe by its official name or simply “TN,” the Air Max Plus is one of Nike’s most beloved models amongst fans of the Air Max lineage. Designed by industry veteran Sean McDowell and originally released in 1998, the Air Max Plus was a feat of innovation for the Swoosh as it was the first silhouette to feature Tuned Air (TN) technology. Now in 2023, Nike is celebrating the history of the cult-favorite model with a special “25th Anniversary” colorway.
To celebrate a quarter century of TN, Nike has fused together four fan-favorite colorways of the Air Max Plus from over the years, resulting in an alluring blue-to-red gradient across the breathable knit uppers. The colorways chosen were the OG “Hyper Blue” from 1998, the rare “Sanguine” from 2004, the Foot Locker Europe-exclusive “Fireberry” from 2013, and the “Palm Pack” from 2019. Special features include “Tuned Since 1998” branding on the lace aglets and custom packaging that celebrates the TN’s history.

Update: Following its initial release via Nike, the Air Max Plus “25th Anniversary” gets a wider release via Foot Locker as part of a special Tuned Air 25th Anniversary collection that also includes tees and other apparel. Foot Locker will also be launching a “Tuned Different” campaign and activations at Foot Locker stores in Miami and Los Angeles as part of the festivities.
