Original Story (01/15/25): Nigel Sylvester is going all out for the rollout of his next Jordan Brand collaboration, the Air Jordan 4 “Brick by Brick.”
The BMX legend is following up his two Air Jordan 4 RM colorways from 2024 with a proper Air Jordan 4 Retro dressed in red-orange tones, inspired by the reddish bricks that define the architectural fabric of his hometown, New York City. Special features include “Bike Air” branding on the heels, reflective 3M details, and a mini embroidered Swoosh on the lateral toe cap.
The “Brick by Brick” theme is a double entendre, as the idiom itself refers to building or achieving something gradually and carefully. It symbolizes the perseverance and determination that Nigel has displayed throughout his career to overcome obstacles and achieve greatness as a Black BMX athlete from Queens.
The rollout for the “Brick by Brick” Jordan 4 kicked off with the reveal of the “Brick by Brick” truck, hauling a 13-foot replica of a brick on its flatbed. Nigel hit the streets of NYC in this truck and hosted a meet-up with fans, where he passed out t-shirts to the crowd that gathered. This gathering was shortly shut down by NYPD.

Nigel followed this up a few days later with a private dinner held at The Standard, High Line, co-hosted by Jordan Brand and sponsored by Don Julio. The event doubled as a fashion show, which featured a first look at the shoes and the accompanying apparel collection, as well as a special performance by battle rappers Murda Mook and Loaded Lux.

The accompanying “Brick by Brick” apparel collection includes ‘Bike Air’-branded jackets, pants, jerseys, tees, and more. As an added easter egg, one of the models at the event was spotted wearing a white-based colorway of Nigel’s Jordan 4 in a color blocking that pays homage to OG “Fire Red” Air Jordan 4. This colorway is expected to release later this year.
The Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 “Brick by Brick” and accompanying apparel collection is set to release on March 14th. Exact details have yet to be announced, though expect a drop on SNKRS and at select retailers. Update (01/23/25): Nigel Sylvester has shared a behind-the-scenes video from his Jordan Bike Air “Brick by Brick” dinner and fashion show.
