Original Story (02/01/24): New Balance is back with its MADE in USA collection for Spring/Summer ’24, marking the fifth seasonal collection designed by Teddy Santis after he was named creative director in 2021.
The lineup is comprised of 13 new colorways of various silhouettes from the beloved 99X series, namely the 990v4, 990v6, 993, 996, and 998. Like previous seasons, the pairs will be released across various drops. The first drop will be the “Grey Matter” pack, consisting of grey/black/cream colorways of the 990v4, 990v6, 996, and 998. In addition to the footwear, the first drop will also include apparel in the seasonal color palette of “Maize,” “Sandstone,” and “Winter Fog.”
The second drop features the 990v4 in “Macadamia Nut” and “Arctic Grey,” both colorways equipped with all-black soles and two-tone laces for a hiking-inspired look. Following that is Drop 3 with the 993 in “Interstellar” purple and “Chive” green, along with an olive “True Camo” iteration of the 990v6. Drop 4 gives us a “Sea Salt” colorway of the 993, which pairs cream pigskin suede and mesh with black overlays and also features a gum bottom.
Between Drop 4 and Drop 5 is the quickstrike release for the season, the “Hi-Lite” 990v4. It combines bright green suede with white mesh and forest green accents. Lastly, Drop 5 features two colorways of the 990v6: one in Vintage Rose/Sea Salt and another in White/Black/Plum.
The New Balance MADE in USA Spring/Summer 2024 releases kick off with Drop 1 on February 8th on the New Balance website and at select retailers. Exact release dates for the rest of the drops will be announced later this season, though expect Drop 2 in March, Drop 3 in April, Drop 4 in May, and Drop 5 in June. Update (03/13/24): Drop 2 is scheduled for March 28th, while Drop 3 is scheduled for May 2nd. All pairs will be available on the New Balance website and at select retailers.
