Original Story (11/16/24): It’s only been about a year and a half since Jae Tips dropped his first Saucony collab, and the Bronx native has already become the footwear brand’s biggest needle mover. Following the release of their ProGrid Omni 9 “To Do List” pack, Jae Tips and Saucony are now launching their fourth collab together, the “No Shoes In The House” pack.
The pack consists of two colorways of the Saucony Matrix, a trail runner silhouette that has remained tucked away in the archive since its original release in 2000. The cranberry-inspired burgundy and cotton candy blue pairs come equipped with wool uppers, paying homage to Jae Tips’ roots in the fitted hat community. Suede overlays cover the heels and toe box, while the tongues are executed in a double-layered mesh typically seen on Y2K era runners. In terms of branding, Jae Tips adds his Savior logo to the left tongue, a floral Savior wordmark on the lateral heels, and his multicolored flower motif on the back of the heels.
Both colorways of the Jae Tips x Saucony Matrix will launch at ComplexCon Las Vegas, with an online release to follow shortly on the Jae Tips website. Additionally, a global release for the burgundy colorway is set for December 6th on the Saucony website and at select retailers. Check out the campaign and preview below.
Update (12/19/24): Following the global release of the “Cranberry” colorway, Jae Tips is now dropping the “Cotton Candy Blue” colorway of his Saucony Matrix via EQL raffle. Entries will be accepted Monday, December 19th from 12pm to 8pm EST. This is the only online drop for this colorway and it will not be available via Saucony or retailers.
