Gallery Dept. is reconnecting with OTW by Vans for a new collaboration featuring the Authentic 44 silhouette.
The LA-based streetwear brand founded by Josué Thomas follows up its 2023 Vans Rowley collab with a new project inspired by the Thomas’ passion for painting and recontextualizing pieces of clothing into works of art. The Gallery Dept. x Vans Authentic features a cream canvas upper covered with black and multicolor paint splatters at the forefoot, reminiscent of the brand’s ASICS GT-2160 project. Thomas also adds subtle grease marks and Art That Kills logo to the midsole, highlighting his brand’s record label-turned-creative platform. The shoes come in special packaging that reads “Handle With Care,” similar to how fine art pieces are shipped.
