CNCPTS x New Balance 740 “Saignée”

Hot off the heels of their ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 “OOO” collab, Boston-based retailer CNCPTS is back with another footwear project, this time in partnership with New Balance.

CNCPTS presents the New Balance 740 “Saignée,” a tribute to the niche process of Champagne making known as Rosé de Saignée. “Saignée” loosely translates to ‘bleeding’ and is a less common and more labor intensive way to produce rosé Champagne. During the pressing, red grapes are mixed into the blend, resulting in the color from the skins “bleeding” into the Champagne. This process results in a far richer tasting experience than with your standard rosé, with more concentrated fruity and terroir characteristics.

“We were really inspired by the combination of warm and cool tones in the color palette of a bottle of rose Champagne,” says Deon Point, Creative Director for CNCPTS. “The season is filled with celebration and no shortage of Champagne being poured, so for us we wanted to bring that same vibrant spirit and mix of details to the design of the 740.”

The New Balance 740 is a 2000s-era open knit mesh runner from the NB archive, recently re-introduced in remastered form with Aminé’s BTEE 740 collab. CNCPTS has taken this remastered silhouette and dressed it in a two-tone green mesh with glossy soft pink overlays and orange accents, giving the shoe a unique visual identity that’s perfect for a night of celebration and poppin’ bottles.

The CNCPTS x New Balance 740 will be available Friday, December 13th at 11am EST on the CNCPTS website. Raffles for in-store pick-up at CNCPTS Boston, New York, and Miami open on December 11th at noon EST. Check out the product shots and campaign images below.
