Original Story (02/08/25): Following last year’s 1906U ““Echoes of a Butterfly” project, Bricks & Wood and New Balance are back with a new collaborative collection set to launch at NBA All-Star 2025.
Titled A Different Bounce, this collaboration marks the first time the South Central LA brand has worked with New Balance on a performance basketball sneaker. It also marks the official launch of New Balance’s latest on-court model, the Fresh Foam BB v3.
According to Bricks & Wood, A Different Bounce “is a visionary basketball concept that explores the multifaceted nature of the game—bridging both its on-court dynamics and the off-court culture that surrounds it. This initiative goes beyond basketball as just a sport; it explores the lifestyle, culture, and business opportunities that emerge from it, nurturing a lifelong passion that extends beyond our playing days. A Different Bounce highlights the many ways basketball integrates into everyday life, recognizing that while the love for the game remains constant, the bounce may evolve over time.”
Representing the lifestyle and off-court culture of basketball is the Bricks & Wood x New Balance 1000. It features the same golden yellow hue as the Fresh Foam BB v3 paired with reflective black overlays.
The accompanying campaign stars Davion Cervantes, a South Central LA artist and childhood friend of Kacey, whom he first met on the basketball court at their local church.
The Bricks & Wood x New Balance “A Different Bounce” collection launches February 14th exclusively in San Francisco. A wider release will take place at a later date. Check out the campaign video below and stay tuned for more.
Update (02/18/25): Following the launch in San Francisco for All-Star, Bricks & Wood is now partnering with EQL for the online release of the “A Different Bounce” collection. Those interested in purchasing can enter here from now until Friday, February 21st at midnight PST. Each footwear style is limited to 500 pairs. Any remaining sizes will be available Friday, February 21st on bricksandwood.us and in-store at SPACE(S) in Los Angeles.
