Azuki Teams Up with AMBUSH For First Fashion Collab

Azuki, the popular NFT project by Chiru Labs, has teamed up with AMBUSH to release a collaborative streetwear collection. This marks the first IRL fashion project from the metaverse-oriented brand.

The four-piece capsule is inspired by traditional Eastern craftsmanship, AMBUSH’s signature minimalistic design, and web3 culture. Included in the capsule is a hoodie in black and cloud colorways with a bean-shaped motif on the right sleeve. This is where the BEAN Chip is embedded, which uses Azuki’s Physical Backed Token (PBT) technology to implement ownership verification through the blockchain. Scanning the chip with your phone allows for the PBT to be minted and digitally transferred to the owner’s wallet which verifiably authenticates the item and ties the item to a digital token in the wallet of their choosing.

The collection also includes two pieces of jewelry. The silver pendant takes the shape of a traditional inkan stamp with dragon-inspired engraving. The pendant opens up to reveal an “IKZ” engraving. This stands for “ikuzo” (“let’s go” in Japanese), the rallying cry of the Azuki community, and is inspired by AMBUSH’s iconic “POW” necklaces. The gold version of the pendant is more limited and features a detail-sculpted dragon design.

“Azuki is proud to collaborate with AMBUSH to explore the intersection of varied subcultures and web3 technology through the lens of fashion,” says Azuki founder Zagabond. “AMBUSH is bold and innovative, and our collaboration reflects these shared values.”

The lookbook for the capsule stars Mandy Sekiguchi, an American-Japanese dancer, rapper, actor, and member of Japanese vocal & dance groups Generations from Exile Tribe, Exile, and Honest Boyz.

Azuki will be holding a community-first drop for the collection that prioritizes NFT holders, followed by the general public. Entries for the draw will be accepted starting on Wednesday, November 9th at 9am PT on azuki.com/ambush, and the draw will remain open for 48 hours. Winners will be selected after the entry period closes on Friday, November 11th. The collection is limited to 1000 hoodies, 500 silver pendants, and 50 gold pendants.
