In 2015, a small group of teammates at Jordan Brand—led by the legendary Howard “H” White—launched the Jordan Brand Wings initiative to unlock access to higher education, mentorship, and opportunity for disadvantaged youth.
As part of this program, a special Wings sneaker is released annually in celebration of the achievements of students in the Wings Scholars Program. For the initiative’s 10-year milestone, Jordan Brand and the Wings Scholars have created a commemorative “10th Anniversary” Wings Air Jordan 5.
The shoe features a shiny satin-like grey upper, symbolizing tin or aluminum—the traditional gift for a 10th anniversary. A special message is embroidered across the toes—”In This Family No One Flies Alone”—while the heels are adorned with the Jumpman and Wings branding. Additional details include the number “10” on the lateral heels, midsoles in black and metallic silver, a translucent outsole with a handprint motif, and laces accented with a grey tassel and metallic 10th anniversary keychain.
