In 2023, adidas introduced the Crazy IIInfinity, a futuristic silhouette with the DNA of the Crazy 1. The Three Stripes now presents the next evolution in this lineage, the Mad IIInfinity.
While the design of the Crazy IIInfinity is based on Kobe Bryant’s Crazy 1 (fka The Kobe), the sleek yet bulky design of the Mad IIInfinity is more akin to its sequel, the adidas Kobe 2, that released in 2001. It also shares DNA with the adidas Mad Handle, T-Mac’s unofficial signature sneaker during his early years with the Orlando Magic. Uppers are constructed from premium mesh, suede, and synthetic leather, paired with an oversized EVA midsole with TPU inserts that provides responsive cushioning and durability.
The Mad IIInfinity is launching as part of adidas Basketball’s The 2024 Collection: Chapter 02, a selection of footwear and apparel for on or off the court that fuses “tradition and tomorrow for the contemporary discerning athlete.” Campaign imagery shows the debut “Core Black” colorway on the feet of Hailey van Lith and Skyy Clark, two athletes signed to NIL deals in 2023 that represent the future of adidas Basketball.
