Jerry Lorenzo and adidas have kicked off a new chapter for Fear of God Athletics with the introduction of their new performance basketball shoe.
The new silhouette, known as the Fear of God Athletics II Basketball or simply “The Two,” builds off the design of “The One,” a basketball-inspired model introduced late last year that was less performance-oriented and based more in fashion and lifestyle.
“I’m humbled to release the Fear of God Athletics II Basketball by adidas Basketball,” says Jerry Lorenzo. “In my opinion, this is Fear of God’s first true athletic shoe. Designed with performance and function as the number one priority, and delivering on shape and aesthetic, this is truly a promise realized.”
The “first true athletic shoe” from Fear of God Athletics comes in both Hi and Mid iterations and features a premium suede upper for a soft, luxurious feel. Three stripes branding is incorporated into the breathable monofilament side paneling, while underfoot is a Lightstrike-cushioned midsole. The Hi version also incorporates a strap for added lockdown and ankle support.
The II Basketball makes its debut in a “Night Brown” colorway, with uppers dressed in an almost-black hue paired with translucent cream midsoles. The shoe has already made its NBA debut, with Gabe Vincent of the Los Angeles Lakers rocking the Mid version on-court earlier this season.

The launch campaign for the Fear of God Athletics II Basketball stars adidas athlete and former MVP Derrick Rose. A recent heartfelt Instagram post from Rose includes a photo of him with Lorenzo from the day of their shoot.
