Australia has been killing it with their sneaker collabs. Big shout out to Up There, EARLS COLLECTION, and all of the brands from down under doing their thing. The next big Aussie sneaker collab comes from Sydney-based sneaker boutique Above the Clouds, who are dropping a new colorway of their ASICS GT-2160 project.
Following up the green colorway from 2023, Above the Clouds now adds reddish “Chocolate Brown” hues to the retro running silhouette. This colorway draws inspiration from the changing colors of Japanese maple trees, from green to yellow, orange and then a deep but vibrant red.
Like the first pair, this colorway also features translucent NEXKIN textile construction on the toebox and midfoot, paired with hexagonal loose knit mesh around the heel and metallic silver overlays.
The Above the Clouds x ASICS GT-2160 is expected to drop globally this July on ASICS.com and at select retailers, plus expect Above the Clouds to announce their own launch prior to the global release. Grab a preview below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
Update (7/13/24): Raffle for the Above the Clouds x ASICS GT-2160 is now open on the Above the Clouds website, with entries accepted until July 19th at 10pm AEST. The global release is scheduled for July 27th via ASICS.com and select retailers.
