Vans Launches Half Cab 30th Anniversary Collection

Vans is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Half Cab silhouette with a collection that includes a modern revamp of the model as well as a matching apparel collection.

The Half Cab released in 1992 as a mid-top variation of Steve Caballero’s 1989 pro shoe, known later as the Full Cab. Prior to this official release, skaters would make their own Half Cabs by take scissors to the Full Cab’s ankle paneling and cover the exposed seams with duct tape.

30 years later, Vans introduces the Half Cab ’92, a new build of the classic model designed with skaters in mind. Subtle tweaks include internal tongue straps for a locked-in fit, POPCUSH cushioning, checkerboard flags on the heels, and separation of the toe cap and ollie patch for a more modern look. The two launch colorways come in “Taupe” and “Dress Blues,” each featuring pig suede construction. The matching apparel collection includes a taupe pullover hoodie, blue and white classic tees, and a taupe jockey hat.

The Vans Half Cab ’92, priced at $75 USD, and matching apparel are available now on Vans.com. Expect more special Half Cab 30th anniversary drops throughout the year.
