Union x Air Jordan 1 High OG “I’m Back” Launch Details

Union and Jordan Brand have teamed up on several projects over the years, though none have had more impact than the Air Jordan 1 “Storm Blue” and “Black” Toe” iterations from 2018. The two are now revisiting that project with a new colorway dropping in 2025 in celebration of the Air Jordan 1’s 40th anniversary.

The upcoming Union LA x Air Jordan 1 features the same chopped-and-screwed design motif as the 2018 colorways, made to look like they were created by stitching two different colorways together. On this iteration, the majority of the upper features the color blocking of the OG Air Jordan 1 “Chicago,” save for the ankle collar, which has the black and grey color blocking of the OG Air Jordan 1 “Shadow.” Hand-drawn design schematics on the insoles and Nike Air on the tongue tags pay homage to the Peter Moore’s original sketches when he designed the Air Jordan 1 over forty years ago.

The project is officially titled “I’m Back,” which may have a few different meanings. For one, the coveted chopped-and-screwed Union x Air Jordan 1 design is back after seven years. “I’m Back” is also how Michael Jordan announced his return to the NBA in 1995 after a brief stint in Minor League Baseball. This storyline connects to the colorway, with the “Shadow” portion representing his time with the Birmingham Barons and the “Chicago” portion representing MJ’s return to the Chicago Bulls.

The UNION x Air Jordan 1 High OG “I’m Back” is slated to drop in 2025 via UNION. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for first looks and additional updates.
