Nike’s partnership with UNDEFEATED is not only one of its longest running (dating back to ’06), but also one its most successful in terms of demand and fanfare. The LA outpost has collaborated on many of NSW’s most classic silhouettes, AF-1s ✓, Dunks ✓, Air Maxes ✓, and you can’t fail to mention the ultra-exclusive Jordan 4, and of course, wide range of Kobes. Their next project with the Swoosh may seem a bit out of left field, as they add their first trail runner to the catalog: the Air Terra Humara.
Although the silhouette was meant to hit the trails when it first released in 1997, the rugged Air Terra Humara was quickly adopted by the streetwear scene, embraced by hip-hop fans and graffiti artists for its practical design and weather-resistant features. The fashion world loved them too, and they were even worn by Britney Spears at one point. UNDEFEATED is now releasing two colorways of the Air Terra Humara, a “Play Dirty” pack, paying homage to the silhouette’s outdoorsy roots.
Equipped with thick, high-traction soles inspired by motorcycle wheels, the Air Terra Humara is offered in a sleek black colorway as well as in stone grey with mud brown overlays. Each feature the words “PLAY” and “DIRTY” on the sides near the ankle collar, where “NIKE” branding would usually be found. Other technical details include reflective accents and rubberized toe and heel caps. The shoes come with special footprint graphics on the insoles, which are also found on the special packaging to further emphasize the “PLAY DIRTY” message.
Both colorways of the UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Terra Humara will release on December 2nd at UNDEFEATED stores and the UNDEFEATED website. No word yet on a SNKRS release just yet but stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for any updates. For now, check out both pairs in the “PLAY DIRTY” pack below.
