Frequent collaborators Supreme and The North Face are back with a new collection for Spring 2024, dubbed the Split Series.
Following up last season’s drop, this latest offering from Supreme x TNF is highlighted by pieces that are split down the middle, with each half of the garment featuring its own color scheme. This design cue is applied to the Taped Seam Shell Jacket and Nuptse Jacket, both featuring a full-length zip down the front and back. This allows for the jacket to break down into two halves, and if you own multiple colorways, you can try mixing and match these halves to create a new piece. The split design is also applied to a 6-Panel hat and Waist Bag, though these pieces don’t include the split zipper. Additionally, the collection also includes a plush teddy bear that comes with a mini split Nuptse Jacket.
The jackets in this collection feature nostalgic camo prints and color combinations. The purple and cream combo especially is reminiscent of Supreme and The North Face’s first ever collaboration, their 1st Series drop from 2007.
Other pieces in the collection — namely the Crewneck and Short — come printed with a list of expeditions where The North Face products have been put to the test, starting with the 1969 Arctic Institute of North America Altitude Study and ending with the 1996 Winter Ascent of Mt. Saint Elias, Alaska. This list first appeared on hangtags of ’90s TNF pieces. There is another reference to the ’90s in Supreme’s campaign imagery. The shot of the group sitting on a bench with their backs to the camera was inspired by a similar shot found in New York Magazine’s December 1996 issue as part of an article titled “Prep-School Gangsters.”
Supreme x The North Face Spring 2024 drops Thursday, February 29th on the Supreme website (10am CT) and at Supreme flagship locations. Check out the campaign and product images below.
