One of the most coveted Vans releases of the past couple years is making its return. The Satoshi Nakamoto x Vans Old Skool 36 is back in a new colorway.
After making its debut last year in green canvas, the Satoshi Nakamoto Vans Old Skool returns with a fuzzy grey textile upper reminiscent of moving blankets, with subtle specks of blue, red, and yellow mixed in. Inspired by vintage American studding and heritage skate culture, the intricate pearl and crystal embellishments make their return, as do the distressed material treatments, with “aged” stains on both the laces and midsole. Additional details include black suede overlays with white contrast stitching, hand-written Satoshi Nakamoto embroidery on the tongue, and Vans OTW branding on the rear bumper plate.
In addition to the OG green colorway and this new grey iteration, Vans and the LA-based streetwear brand also released a friends-and-family exclusive “Port Royale” colorway of the collab at New York Fashion Week last September. Vans OTW also released its own “Pearlized Pack” last year for those that want the same aesthetic without paying over a thousand in resell.
