In 2020, London’s Palace Skateboards and Osaka’s Evisu kicked off their partnership with a collection paying tribute to the Japanese denim label’s impact on the UK rave scene. The Palace x Evisu collab has now become a yearly tradition, with each collection mightier than the last.
For their fourth installment, Palace and Evisu dedicate their latest collection to the city of Detroit, pioneer of techno music. The campaign video, directed by longtime Palace collaborator Rollo Jackson, follows musician and Motor City native John FM as he gives us a glimpse of life in the city that molded him.
His closing words, “everyday is a gamble,” is a perfect tie-in to this year’s Palace x Evisu collection, which features the return of Evisu’s dice motif from the mid 2000s.
This dice motif has been remixed to incorporate both the Palace “P” logo and the Evisu seagull and has been applied to the back of denim trucker jackets, jeans, jean shorts, and zip-up hoodies. The star of the show, however, may be the lambswool Cowichan knit cardigan featuring oversized dice and kanji motifs.
Rounding out the collection are co-branded tees, denim trucker hats also featuring the dice brocade, a denim jean tote bag, and a custom dice set.
PALACE EVISU 2024 drops Friday, April 19th at Palace locations and online on the Palace website. The collection will also be available on the Evisu website and the Evisu New York flagship. Check out the lookbook photos and product shots below.
