Nike Basketball has officially announced the release of the LeBron XX, celebrating LeBron James’ 20th year with Nike and his 20th year in the NBA.
The LeBron XX (aka the LeBron 20) is the lightest signature LeBron shoe yet. Its main features include a lower profile, a top-loaded Air Zoom Turbo unit at the forefoot, a larger 13mm thick Zoom Air unit in the heel, and a carbon fiber midfoot shank. Throughout the shoe are heritage details that to nod to LeBron’s past achievements, though the shoe was created with the future in mind, designed for the next generation of hoopers.
“We saw the XX as a chance to celebrate the next 20 years for LeBron,” says Jason Petrie, lead designer of the LeBron line. “The stitched tag inside the tongue says, ‘Designed and Engineered to the Exact Specifications of the Next Generation.’ We took that line seriously as we designed the shoe. We had players like LeBron’s sons Bronny and Bryce in mind. We wanted to get in their heads and learn about what young players were looking for.”
First revealed by LeBron in a pink colorway and recently hitting shelves in “Violet Frost,” the debut colorway of the LeBron XX is officially called “Time Machine” and features a Barely Green knit upper and hits of pink on the Cushlon midsole and Nike Sphere collar lining.
The Nike LeBron XX “Time Machine” is set to release on September 29th on Nike.com, SNKRS, and at select retailers in adult and kids sizing. More colorways will release throughout holiday 2022. Check out the pair below.
