Nike Air Max 1 “Powerwall BRS” Returns In Big Bubble Form

Nike is once again revisiting its classic Air Max “Powerwall” series from the 2000s, bringing back one of its biggest grails, the Air Max 1 “BRS.”

The “Powerwall” series originally released in 2005 in celebration of three decades of Air Max and the introduction of 360-degree cushioning on the Air Max 360. It consisted of 56 different pairs, made up of seven themed lots with eight different Air Max silhouettes in each lot: Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Air Max 180, Air Max 93, Air Max 95, Air Max 97, Air Max 2003, and the new Air Max 360.

Each shoe in this series was extremely limited, with only 144 pairs made of each style. In 2020, Nike brought back the Air Max 1 “Lemonade” from the “Extraordinary Greens” lot (Row 5 in the graphic below). This was followed by two new variants: “Limeade” and “Strawberry Lemonade.”

Nike is now bringing back another Powerwall Air Max 1, the “BRS Powerwall” from the “Blue Ribbon Sports” lot (Row 4), arguably the most famous pair in the whole series. Like the other shoes in this group, this Air Max 1 came dressed in colors paying tribute to Nike’s earliest models, styles from back when the company was known as Blue Ribbon Sports. The “BRS Powerwall” Air Max 1 features a metallic green upper, brown suede overlays, and a bright pink leather Swoosh.

The return of the Air Max 1 “Powerball BRS” is not a 1-to-1 retro, as the colorway is now placed on the Air Max 1 ’86 model, the silhouette’s “Big Bubble” version that Nike introduced in 2023.

The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Powerwall BRS” drops this fall on SNKRS and at select retailers. Check out the official images below.
