Move over 1906L, New Balance has a new dress shoe/sneaker hybrid on the way.
Debuted by New Balance Senior Marketing Manager Lee Stuart while out in Paris for Fashion Week, the upcoming New Balance 1890 takes a similar approach to the 1906L sneaker loafer, taking the ABZORB-cushioned midsole from the 860v2 and pairing it with an upper traditionally found on dress shoes. This time around, the New Balance designers applied a moccasin-like leather upper to their new silhouette, drawing comparison to Grasshoppers footwear, Hush Puppies, and the Clarks Wallabee.
The 1890 makes its debut in a butter yellow colorway with scaly snakeskin overlays, all atop an all-black midsole. More colorways will be revealed as we get closer to the launch date.
