Kith is expanding into the South Korean retail market with a new flagship location opening in Seoul’s Seongsu neighborhood.
The four-story brick-and-mortar store opens May 31st and will carry Kith’s in-house and multi-brand ready-to-wear apparel, accessories, and footwear. A Kith Treats bar is located on the first floor, while the third floor and a section of the fourth-floor terrace are dedicated to Sadelle’s restaurant.
The retail area of the first floor is tailored to premium lifestyle goods and features Rosa Aurora Macchia Vecchia stone floors with dark walnut trim, Venetian plaster walls with softened edges, and white onyx display cases. The ground floor also features a living room-style lounge area with cozy seating, a DJ booth housing vinyl records, and a grand chandelier.
The second floor is dedicated to footwear and features a mix of Kith Monogram wallpaper, Rosa Aurora walls, and dark walnut floors with brass accents.
The opening of Kith Seoul is accompanied by the release of an exclusive capsule of apparel, accessories, and footwear available exclusively at the new store. Highlighting the capsule is the “Seoul” Clarks Wallabee designed by Kith founder Ronnie Fieg, featuring hairy suede and quilted suede colorblocked construction with colors inspired by the South Korean flag. Similar design cues are found on Kith’s “Seoul” GEL-LYTE III that will be available globally.
The festivities also include a collaboration with Jinro Soju, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. A Kith x Jinro Soju co-branded bottle will be available at Kith Seoul and at select convenience shops throughout South Korea on May 31st. Kith x Jinro Soju apparel and accessories will also be available at Kith Seoul.
During the opening weeks, Kith Seoul will host an exhibition showcasing items from the brand’s archives. The exhibition will be on display in the first floor living room from May 31st to June 16th.
