After delivering a “Storm Blue” colorway in 2023, JJJJound and New Balance are once again collaborating on the 2002R.
This time, the Montreal-based design studio gives the silhouette a utilitarian upgrade, adding a GORE-TEX lining for insulation from harsh wintry conditions. The shoes come in dim desaturated color palettes to match the utilitarian aesthetic, offered in “Charcoal” and “Pine” colorways. Both feature suede construction with black mesh underlays and reflective accents throughout. The pairs also come with tonal flat laces and an additional set of black toggle laces with reflective details. As JJJJound is known for its minimalist, contemporary design cues, branding is kept to a minimum, with the JJJJound name placed subtly on the heels.
The JJJJound x New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX launches Thursday, February 15th at 12pm ET on JJJJound.com, followed by a global release on Thursday, February 22nd via New Balance channels. Check out both colorways below.
