Original Story (05/26/25): Womenswear label Hyein Seo has unveiled its first collaboration with Nike, featuring the debut of a brand new silhouette, the AVA Rover.
South Korean designer Hyein Seo founded her namesake label in 2014 alongside co-founder Jino Lee, shortly after graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. It was at this prestigious Belgian institution that Seo honed her dystopian, rebellious aesthetic—one that would establish her as a standout voice in Antwerp’s avant-garde fashion scene.
The Hyein Seo x Nike AVA Rover comes dressed in an stealthy black and dark olive color scheme, evoking a military uniform feel similar to another Korean Nike collaboration, the WORKSOUT Air Max 95. The silhouette itself features a gorpcore-inspired design language, reminiscent of styles from Nike’s experimental ISPA or outdoor-focused ACG lines. Uppers are crafted from engineered textile equipped with textured TPU mudguards, while ReactX-cushioned midsoles sport molded rubber sidewalls and rugged, waffle-like treading underfoot. Additional features include a reflective heel panel and HYEIN SEO branding on the pull tabs and insoles.
The Hyein Seo x Nike AVA Rover is set to launch June 6th exclusively at the Hyein Seo flagship in Seoul. A global release will follow via SNKRS, Hyein Seo website, and select retailers. Check out the official images below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more.
