Tremaine Emory (aka Denim Tears) presents a new capsule collection titled “Tears, Flags, and Caskets.” The collection centers around the famous red, green, and black African-American flag designed by New York City artist David Hammons, as well as images from the funeral procession of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The drop includes a re-release of the Denim Tears Chuck 70 that dropped back in October, this time with a slight update.
The Chuck 70 reissue includes the signature of artist David Hammons on the inner tongue, a detail not present on the initial release. The soft goods in the capsule include items that use a well known 1968 photo from Martin Luther King Jr.’s funeral. Emory stylized the Hammons flag draped over the casket of Dr. King in its green and red hues. The hoodie and the tee show the photo in full color while the crewneck and long sleeve use a black & white version of the photo. A blanket and poster is also available for purchase.
The “Tears, Flags, and Caskets” capsule is available now on the Denim Tears webstore, where you can also find numerous other items inspired by the Hammons-designed flag.
