Edison Chen and adidas kicked off their partnership earlier this year with the launch of the CLOT Superstar, a fresh take on the iconic shell toe with a unique rippled outsole. The two are now introducing their next reinterpreted silhouette, the CLOT Gazelle.
Like the Superstar, the CLOT Gazelle has a unique sole unit, though this time in the style of the Spanish espadrille. The midsole, made of natural fibers, is stitched to the suede and textile upper using traditional espadrille stitching machines. This is attached to a modern gum rubber outsole, creating a juxtaposition of old and new.
Meanwhile, the stripes on the uppers have been hand embroidered with glass beads, adding a touch of elegance to the design. As a bonus, the blue co-branded insoles are custom molded for added comfort.
The campaign for this release stars global superstar Jennie Ruby Jane, member of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK. The images and short film are backdropped by a dreamy, nature-filled landscape, while JENNIE allows her imagination and self-escapism take over.
The CLOT Gazelle will release alongside a new CLOT x adidas Originals apparel collection, available exclusively in Greater Central Asia. Comprised of Vintage Jackets, Shorts, Rib Tees, and Bowling Shirts, the collection draws inspiration from Edison Chen’s trip to the Amalfi Coast. Vintage fits and two-tone color combinations create an effortless yet sophisticated effect, making the pieces suitable for both casual and formal styling.
The draw for the CLOT Gazelle by Edison Chen is now open on CONFIRMED with June 14th as the official launch date. It will also be available at select JUICE retail locations, adidas stores, adidas.com/edisonchen, juicestore.com, and select retailers.
