Born X Raised & Online Ceramics Unveil “Born Online” Collection

0

Although Born X Raised and Online Ceramics are both Los Angeles-based streetwear brands, their aesthetics and fanbases are vastly different.

BXR hails from Venice with ties to graffiti culture and a neighborhood-focused, anti-gentrification point of view. Online Ceramics, on the other hand, is the brainchild of two art school kids with a penchant for punk, noise rock, and the Grateful Dead, who are all about creating conceptual and psychedelic graphics and not taking themselves too seriously.

One thing that unites Born X Raised and Online Ceramics is their Y2K nostalgia, growing up on the internet in the early 2000s. This serves as the main inspiration for their collaborative “Born Online” collection.

The “Born Online” collection includes co-branded tees, hoodies, mesh jerseys, a varsity jacket, and hats, all designed in a style reminiscent of early 2000s Myspace pages—with blingee graphics, Internet Explorer-esque browser tabs, and ASCII art. The accompanying campaign was shot on 35mm and stars DJ Softest Hard.

The Born X Raised x Online Ceramics “Born Online” collection drops July 19th at 12pm PT on bornxraised.com and online-ceramics.com. Check out the campaign imagery below.
